Josh pursued a career in Massage Therapy because it combined his service-oriented disposition with his desire to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. He feels fortunate to spend every day helping others reach their full potential.
Josh is excited to work with an incredibly diverse team of experienced and dedicated clinicians at Tall Tree. He has worked with a variety of conditions throughout school and in his practice and is drawn to work that involves chronic pain, post-surgery rehabilitation, mobility issues, and elevated stress and anxiety. He uses a combination of Swedish massage, Deep Tissue massage, Trigger Point Release, Isolytic Release, and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation.
Josh is continuously learning and integrating new treatment approaches into his evidence-based practice. He believes it is important to listen to clients’ concerns and understand their goals in order to carry out the most effective treatments possible.
When he’s not working, Josh is often perfecting his favourite recipes or trying new ones, exploring new trails with his wife and son, and riding his bike. He has enjoyed living in Victoria since moving here in 2020 and is excited to continue exploring the beautiful island with his family.

Joelle has always had a passion for movement and a curiosity about the human body and how it works. Since graduating in 2005, Joelle has gone on to study many different modalities related to massage therapy. She has concentrated her continuing education on courses that enhance her skills in assessment and manual therapy as well as strengthen her understanding of chronic pain. Some of these courses include: pain neurophysiology patient education, advanced deep tissue massage and myofascial release, muscle imbalance and movement pattern assessment, exercise training for injury prevention, pre- and post-event sport massage, soft tissue release technique, kinesio taping, athletic taping, as well as cupping and scraping techniques from the Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC. Joelle has also worked with the Canadian National Swimming team over the years and has accompanied them at many of their international swim meets as a member of their health care team.
Joelle’s practice involves treating a wide variety of orthopaedic injuries and general conditions. In her practice, Joelle incorporates manual (hands-on) techniques as well as exercise prescription to help people reach their optimal health. Vanessa feels extremely fortunate to work in a profession in which she can help empower patients to take an active role in their recovery and get back to what they love doing. Her path to physiotherapy started at the University of Victoria, where an interest in the workings of organisms and a curiosity about the brain led to a major in biology and a minor in psychology. Through her undergraduate degree, Vanessa worked part-time at a hospital, where she felt that helping people in healthcare was immensely rewarding. Following her undergraduate degree, her sights narrowed on physiotherapy- a career that combined her studied interests, her desire to motivate and help others, and the value she held in leading an active lifestyle.
The decision to pursue a career in physiotherapy took Vanessa to Scotland where she completed her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University. Although living in the United Kingdom was a great adventure and gave her an international perspective on healthcare practice, Vanessa was excited to return to and serve her hometown of Victoria. Since completing the program, Vanessa’s drive to continue her professional development has never dwindled. She has taken courses in manual therapy, pain science, IMS/dry needling, concussion management, and vestibular (dizziness) rehabilitation. As a physiotherapist, Vanessa strongly believes in taking the time to really listen to a patient’s story, addressing their worries or concerns, and understanding their values and goals.
Vanessa is thrilled to work among other healthcare practitioners who share her enthusiasm for clinical application of current research and the ever-evolving development of patient care. She deeply values the philosophy of Tall Tree Integrated Health Centre, which fosters a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and on-going learning. Further, Vanessa is delighted to return to and practice in Cordova Bay- the neighbourhood she grew up in.
Outside of the clinic, Vanessa leads and active lifestyle- she can usually be found in the forest testing her bravery and skills on a mountain bike, trail running with Roscoe the grumpy cattle dog, or spending time with family and friends.
